Two new Boeing buildings are going up

EVERETT — The Boeing Co. is constructing two new buildings at Paine Field.

An approximately 115,000-square-foot building is going up near the Everett Delivery Center and the flight line for Boeing’s Everett plant.

That building, which will be known as 45-12, will support general manufacturing and pre-delivery work for commercial airplanes, according to Paul Bergman, a company spokesman.

“Construction is on track” to finish by the first quarter of 2016, Bergman said. The building will accommodate about 100 employees.

A new hangar, meanwhile, is going up on Paine Field’s south end at Boeing’s Everett Modification Center, which has been largely used for doing pre-delivery work on 787 Dreamliners.

The new 45-335 building will be 39,758-square-feet, according to permit records.
