SALT LAKE CITY — A 10-year-old boy from Lake Stevens died in a car crash in northern Utah.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 84 about 8 miles east of Snowville near the Idaho border.
Troopers say the driver became distracted and drifted into the median.
As a result, the car went off the road and rolled before landing on its roof.
Troopers say Tony Orlov died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
A 9-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and is hospitalized in stable condition.
Authorities say the boy’s mother — who was driving — father, 13-year-old brother and three sisters between ages 7 and 14 suffered minor injuries.
They have all been treated and released.
