Marysville man injured in Highway 9 crash

LAKE STEVENS — A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Sunday night in a crash at Highway 9 and 20th Street SE.

The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Marysville man, collided with another vehicle around 11 p.m. He suffered head and leg injuries and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The other driver, 26, was not injured and stayed at the scene.

The highway was shut down for more than three hours while detectives investigated.

Initial information gathered from witnesses indicates that the motorcyclist may have ran a red light, Ireton said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
