LAKE STEVENS — A house was destroyed by a fire Sunday and power was knocked out to hundreds of homes while crews battled the blaze.
The fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Vernon Road. The house was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
Firefighters were hampered by live electrical lines and called for power to be shut off.
No injuries were reported, according to the Lake Stevens police.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
