Everett Philharmonic to play around with your ‘Imagination’

Paul-Elliott Cobbs directs the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra in its second concert of the season, “Music for the Imagination,” at 3 p.m. Nov. 29 at Everett Civic Auditorium. Ticket information is available at www.everettphil.org.

The program includes works by Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky, as well as selections from John Williams’ music for “Star Wars” and music from “Frozen.” After the concert, children are encouraged to “meet” the instruments of the orchestra as well as the people who play them.

A highlight of the afternoon will be a performance of Chopin’s “Andante Spianato et Polonaise” by Casey Sim, a 16-year-old pianist from Bothell. She is the Snohomish County Music Teacher Association’s 2015 Concerto Competition winner as well as the winner of other local and state competitions. She has been studying piano with Allan Park since she was 7 years old.
