Lynnwood car crash kills Edmonds woman

LYNNWOOD — A woman in her 40s was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-car crash in Lynnwood.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 18200 block of 36th Avenue W. Two others suffered less serious injuries.

The woman, from Edmonds, was a passenger in a car that was turning left into an apartment complex, Lynnwood police Cmdr. Jim Nelson said. The car was struck by a southbound vehicle. The Edmonds woman was ejected and died at the scene.

“Investigators will work to determine if alcohol, drugs or speed was a factor,” Nelson said. “That analysis may take several weeks.”

The road was expected to be closed for hours between 184th Street SW and Maple Road.
