Meet Marysville fire chief candidates at open house

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Fire District plans an open house Thursday night with the eight final candidates for the fire chief’s job.

It starts at 7 p.m. at Fire Station 62, 10701 Shoultes Road. After the event, additional interviews are planned later this month before the board makes a hiring decision.

The candidates include four Marysville firefighters: Jeffrey Cole, Scott Goodale, Martin McFalls and Darryl Neuhoff. Others are F. David Burke and Lawrence Rude from King County, Brent Christopherson from Montana and Scott Lewis from Oregon.

The district also remains in talks with the city about forming a regional fire authority, a new government body that would levy its own taxes for fire protection and emergency medical services.
