EVERETT — A four-story, 48,000-square-foot self-storage business is planned to be built at the site of the former Breakwater Marine in Everett along I-5.

Last week, crews tore down the 8,300-square-foot building that housed Breakwater Marine at 8407 Broadway.

A Kirkland business man is seeking to build the self-storage business with construction starting next month. The project is expected to take seven months, according to a representative working for the owner.

The site will include 10-feet of landscaping around the perimeter of the 2.4 acre site.

Breakwater Marine opened at the site in 2011, one of several stores from the Surrey, Canada,-based business. The company’s stores in Everett and Ferndale are closed and a phone number was not working for a Seattle store.
