The Animal Farm at Forest Park opens June 27 at Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd. in Everett. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Aug. 16. Sheep, ducks, hens, rabbits, calves, pigs — the barnyard gang is all there. Admission is free, with donations accepted to offset the cost of feed and barnyard maintenance. Pony rides for ages 2 and older are 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday through Sunday, subject to weather conditions, pony temperament and staff availability. Feel the shaggy mane and soft fur of a pony on a ride around the arena. Adult supervision and helmets are required. Wear a farm helmet or bring your own. There is a rider weight limit of 70 pounds. Suggested donation is $3 a ride.
You can also rent the farm for a birthday party. Invite up to 12 children, ages 4 to 9, for a tour, a pony ride and a barnyard buddy picture. Birthday treats and supplies are not included. Party times are 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays, July through mid-August. Cost is $95 for up to 8 children, with each additional child $9.
