Tourism Bureau adds new board member
Melissa Springer, general manager of the Hampton Inn Seattle/Everett Downtown, has joined the board of directors of the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau. Springer has a total of 30 years of experience in the lodging industry and resort management, both in Seattle and California, with expertise in public relations, financial management, marketing and government relations.
Xfinity to match Race for the Cure donations

Gardner Economics owner, money managers to appear on radio show
The next edition of Getting Your Dough To Rise, KSER 90.7 FM and KXIR 89.9 FM’s monthly personal finance show, is 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Host Chuck Noel is joined by Matthew Gardner of Gardner Economics in Seattle and money managers Tony Baruffi and Bill Smead. Listeners may call in questions during the program.
New gallery opens in Snohomish
Gallery Purdom, a new art gallery, has opened in Snohomish at 609 First St. Owners Jesse and Jen Purdom opened the space as a showcase to Jesse’s other company, Pacific Metal Arts. Current gallery hours are Thursdays 2 to 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rest of the week is by appointment.
Cinnabon returns to Alderwood Mall
Cinnabon has returned to Alderwood Mall. The specialty cinnamon roll and baked good chain celebrated its grand opening on Saturday. The new Cinnabon bakery is owned and operated by local franchise partner, Bret Stewart. Before joining the Cinnabon system, Stewart spent 23 years owning and operating Auntie Anne’s pretzel bakeries.
