Rubenstein’s donates carpet for EvCC veterans’ center

Everett Community College’s Veterans’ Resource Center has new carpet thanks to a donation from Rubenstein’s. The Seattle-based commercial flooring company donated more than $4,000 worth of carpet and labor, replacing worn, stained carpet that was more than two decades old in Baker Hall, rooms 203 and 204. The center serves more than 500 military veterans and active duty military personnel every quarter.

Sno-Isle tech center receives donation of transmissions

The students in the Auto Technology program at the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center have 19 current General Motors transmissions to work on. This is thanks to a donation that was made possible through a partnership between General Motors and the Automotive Service Educational Program at Shoreline Community College.

Langley Main Street Association, city recognized

The Langley Main Street Association and the City of Langley received the Community Partnership award at Washington Main Street’s Excellence on Main Awards Ceremony on May 7 in Bellingham. They were recognized for a variety of projects including opening the Langley Whale Center. The award recognizes communities, organizations, and individuals who are helping to achieve economic vitality and build sustainable communities through downtown revitalization and preservation.

Cabela’s in Tulalip to celebrate Armed Forces Day

To honor military members and veterans, Cabela’s in Tulalip will celebrate Armed Forces Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Two storage facilities to hold auctions

Storage auctions will be held at two different facilities in Lake Stevens on June 6. Lake Stevens Depot, near Frontier Village, will host an auction at 11 a.m. Lake Stevens Mini Storage, located near the historic downtown, will host an auction at 1 p.m. Information on both auctions is available at www.tillmonsauction.com.
