United Way hires new director of marketing

United Way of Snohomish County has hired Jacqui Campbell as director of marketing and communications. Campbell is the former senior marketing manager of The Daily Herald. Campbell has over 12 years of experience in sales, advertising, account management and marketing. She currently serves on the YMCA Everett board of directors, is active in the Junior League of Seattle and is a Rotarian.

EvCC nursing students seek supplies for Dominican Republic

Everett Community College nursing students are seeking donations of over-the-counter medications, hygiene supplies and money to purchase medications, such as antibiotics, for impoverished families in the Dominican Republic. To make a tax-deductible, financial donation contact Candace Whedon at cwhedon@everettcc.edu or 425-388-9462. Supplies can be dropped off at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., outside Liberty Hall 361 or Parks Student Union Room 209.

Menchie’s celebrates opening in Bothell

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt has planned a week-long grand opening celebration through Friday at their newest location at 19122 Beardslee Blvd., Suite 103, Bothell. The event will feature free giveaways including T-shirts, plushie dolls and dodge balls and family-friendly activities, such as free face painting.

Edmonds chamber welcomes whale tour business

On May 6, the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for new member business Puget Sound Express — Whale Watching Tours. Owners Pete and Sherri Hanke have been operating the company for 29 years. Hanke began in the industry with his father Pete Hanke Sr. The Hanke’s children also work for the organization.

Coastal Community becomes Boys &Girls sponsor

Boys &Girls Clubs of Snohomish County has announced a new partnership with Coastal Community Bank. Coastal has chosen to be the nonprofit’s premier sponsor of the Youth of the Year program for Clubs. The year-long program culminates with a dinner honoring Youth of the Year attended by board and key community members.

Free business workshop planned in Sultan

Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick will host a free business workshop on Business Start Up Success. It will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the GROW Washington Store, 927 U.S. 2, Sultan.
