Alaska Airlines adds flights from Seattle to Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Alaska Airlines is beginning nonstop flights from its Seattle hub to Charleston in November.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported Tuesday that the airline is also adding nonstop service to Nashville, Tennessee, and Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina.

Alaska Airline’s vice president John Kirby told the newspaper the move adds three cities to its roster that are favorite tourist destinations and business centers. Kirby said the Boeing company’s investment in the Charleston area was a factor in the addition.

Flights begin Nov. 16. Passengers heading to Charleston will be able to choose a biscuits and gravy breakfast option.

Alaska Airlines’ routes include some 92 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is the seventh largest U.S. air carrier in passenger volume.
