Arlington service club repairs fence for Cocoon House

On April 11, members of the Kiwanis Club of Arlington gathered to make much needed repairs on portions of a fence surrounding the Cocoon House property. This yearly event was in recognition of Kiwanis One Day, a special day set aside for community service. The fence work was completed and it is now standing firm and straight.

Port of Everett administrator receives certification

Terrie Battuello, Port of Everett chief of business development, was recently recertified by the International Economic Development Council. Battuello is one of only 1,022 people nationwide to hold the certified economic developer designation, which she first received in 2012. For recertification, Battuello had to maintain her education, participate in the field of economic development, and support economic development programs throughout the country.

Job fair scheduled at EdCC

Edmonds Community College will host their 20th annual career fair. More than 45 local employers with full- and part-time jobs as well as seasonal positions will be represented. The free event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 in Woodway Hall 202 on the EdCC campus, 20000 68th Ave. W. Participants should bring resumes and dress professionally.

Inslee praised by trade group

The Washington Council on International Trade and its members — manufacturers, retailers, farmers and service providers — have commended Gov. Inslee for his leadership in organizing a letter, signed by a bipartisan majority of our nation’s governors, calling for long-term reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank. The Ex-Im Bank is critical to U.S. exporters’ ability to compete with foreign businesses.
