This is a series taking a look at the most expensive homes sold last year in each region of Snohomish County. On Wednesday we saw the most expensive home in the county. Today we’re looking at the central-west part of the county including Everett, Mukilteo and Mill Creek. (Northwest Multiple Listing Area 740.)
Imagine your home with a theater complete with a light-up marquee to announce the evening’s showing or maybe just to send a personalized birthday message.
That was one of the many features for the most expensive home sold in the Everett, Mukilteo and Mill Creek areas last year.
The 4,753 square-foot house is one of the seven homes of Fairway Fountains, a gated private development along the Mill Creek Country Club. It sold for $1.453 million last year, according to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service.
It sits along the first fairway of the country club’s golf course on a private street made of cobblestone bricks, said Charles Doepp, who along with his wife Sue Doepp, both of RE/Max Northwest Realtors, were the listing real estate agents.
The house built in 2005 includes four bedrooms with in-suite bathrooms, a den, the theater with a state-of-the-art media system, a loft library, two bonus rooms with a four-car garage wired with audio and video.
The ground floor is heated hydronically, with tubes running under the floor circulating hot water to give off radiant heat, Charles Doepp said.
“It’s extremely efficient — it’s one of the most efficient ways to heat a house,” Charles Doepp said. “It runs through the floor so your toes would be toasty on the tile or the carpet.”
The home features a grand entryway. Materials used throughout the home include Travertine, cherry wood, marble, stone and granite.
Outside, the home features a heated pool and hot tub with an adjoining waterfall, bath house and a covered dining area and patio.
The owners aren’t required to be members of the country club nor are they given preferential treatment for admission, Charles Doepp said.
