Prep boys tennis: Wesco 4A District Tournament

MOUNT VERNON — The Kamiak and Jackson boys tennis teams both had strong starts at the opening day of the Wesco 4A District Tournament, as the two schools make up three out of the four players remaining in singles play and all four remaining doubles teams.

Ben Mietzner and Bence Dare each advanced to the semifinals in singles play for the Timberwolves. Dare will face Kamiak’s Jimmy Hua, and Mietzner will face Cascade freshman Yevgeniy Kolomiyets.

In doubles play, Kamiak advances the doubles pairings of Joseph Lee and Garrettt Peterson, and Devon Kasishian and Tyler Bang. Lee and Peterson will face Alex Olson and Caleb Kim, and Kasishian and Bang will play Josh Yi and Nicholas Magarelli.
