QFC receives major facelift

QFC has completed a $2.7 million remodel of the store at 2615 Broadway in Everett. To celebrate the re-opening, store management presented $500 donations to Volunteers of America and Boys &Girls Club of Everett. The five-month long remodel included upgrades in the produce, deli, bakery and wine departments. The store opened in 1995 and received its last major improvement in 2003.

Lynnwood’s 1st Security Bank collecting school supplies

The Lynnwood branch of 1st Security Bank is now collecting school supplies for Lynnwood Elementary School. Items needed include backpacks, binders, crayons, paper, pencils and other new school supplies. A complete list is available on the bank’s website, www.fsbwa.com. In addition to supplies, cash or check donations can also be made at each branch. The Lynnwood Branch of 1st Security Bank is located at 19002 33rd Avenue W. in Lynnwood.

Applications sought for donated solar projects

The Solarize South County Community Coalition is seeking applications from qualified community organizations interested in having a donated solar photovoltaic system installed at their facility. The donated equipment will serve as a community award as part of the Solarize South County project. For qualifying ZIP codes and more information, go to www.solarizewa.org. The deadline for submitting an application is Aug. 21.
