New HR director at Canyon Creek Cabinets in Monroe

Canyon Creek Cabinet Company recently appointed Deena Eckroth to be its new HR director. Eckroth has over 15 years of human resources management experience in the manufacturing environment, providing strategic leadership in the areas of employee recruitment, development and retention.

New president of the Group Health physicians board

The Group Health Physicians Board of Directors selected Dr. Steve Tarnoff as president and chief medical executive. Tarnoff is successor to Michael Soman, MD, who retired at the end of June. In this role, Tarnoff oversees the care of nearly 400,000 patients in Group Health Cooperative’s 25 owned and operated facilities throughout Washington state.

Nursing care facility in Snohomish honored

Snohomish’s Merry Haven Care Center has received a 2014 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care. The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

Revenue department hosts webinar on business taxes

Washington State Department of Revenue will host a free live webinar for new and small business owners about business taxes and tax reporting. The event is 10 to 11 a.m. on July 30. Nominate corporations, businesses for doing good

The Office of Secretary of State is accepting nominations for a 2014 Corporations for Communities Award. The deadline to nominate a company is Aug. 31. Winners for this year’s award will be announced in early October. Nomination forms can be found at http://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/corpsforcommunities/ on the Secretary of State’s website.
