The Everett-based Washington Rush girls soccer team won the U-17 Girls Super Group title Aug. 1 at the 10th annual U.S. Club Soccer National Cup in Boise, Idaho.

The team qualified for the National Cup in June by winning the U.S. Club Regional Championship in Redmond.

Playing in three-figure temperatures, the Rush won its first three games by a combined score of 9-1 to advance to the finals. In the championship game, the Rush shut out Eugene Metro FC 4-0.

“It was a challenge in 100-degree weather,” Rush coach Ben Somoza said in a press release. “The halves are 45 minutes long and there is a strong fatigue factor.”

The roster of the championship team included Miranda Head, Louisa Pendergast, Sadie Hitsky, Kelly Gould, Kris Nelson, Lindsay Licht, Jessie Murphy, Lauren Luke, Ashley Saracino, Becca Lentz, Breonna Countryman, Tasha Pabisz, Stephanie Conard, C. J. Shaver, Makaela Nellams, Sofia Vargas and Cara Wegner.
