Tom Hoban, CEO of the Everett-based Coast Group of Companies, which includes its commercial brokerage firm, Coast/Sperry Van Ness, was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the national Sperry Van Ness conference in San Diego in May. Hoban and his brother Shawn founded the first of the companies 25 years ago.

Hank Jacky and Max Jones have joined Kirtley-Cole Associates as project managers. Jacky has 16 years of construction industry experience, is a LEED accredited professional and was previously with CDK Construction and Foushee &Associates. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Washington State University. Jones has 22 years of experience and was previously with SD Deacon. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from Purdue University.

Global Spectrum has announced the election of conference center sales manager Linda Beecher to the position of vice president of membership with Meeting Professionals International — Washington State Chapter for 2012-2013. She will be responsible for the management of chapter programs, services and resources for member recruitment, retention, involvement and recognition.

Peoples Bank has hired Rick Parchem as a real estate loan officer at the bank’s Mill Creek Home Loan Center in Mill Creek Town Center. Parchem brings 25 years of financial and lending expertise. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington.

Jason Redrup of Edmonds and Rich McCabe of White Center have been appointed as business representatives for Machinists Union District Lodge 751 based in Everett. They will represent the interests of about 2,500 Machinists Union members working for the Boeing Co. Before becoming a business representative, Redrup was an IAM work transfer representative in Everett. McCabe was an IAM work transfer representative in Renton.

Rich Huebner has joined Snohomish County Tourism Bureau as sports sales manager, a newly created position responsible for increasing the county’s prominence as a sporting events destination. Huebner has worked at KIMA-TV and Dex One in Yakima and the Yakima Valley Visitors &Convention Bureau. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Seattle University.

Reid Middleton Inc., an Everett-based engineering, planning and surveying firm, has made several new hires. Project engineer Ben Sommer joins the firm’s airport engineering group. Airport designer Melanie Haagsma also joined the airport group. Andrea Rose has been hired as technical editor. Corbin Hammer has been promoted to senior engineer and Kathleen Baxter was promoted to marketing coordinator.

Goldfinch Bros. Inc. has announced three new hires. Jenae Goldfinch has joined Goldfinch Bros. as estimator and project manager in its Commercial Division. She joins her brother, Joe Goldfinch, as the sixth generation to work in the family-owned, 120-year-old Everett glass business. Jenae Goldfinch graduated from Washington State University in 2009 and spent nearly four years working for M.A. Mortenson Construction Co. At Goldfinch Bros., she will be responsible for projects worth up to several million dollars. Jeff Wilson joined the company as an estimator and project manager in its Commercial Division. He brings nearly 30 years of experience with Lindal Building Products, Insulate Industries and SGS Glass Co. At Goldfinch Bros., he will be responsible for estimating, project management and customer service for tenant improvement projects. Dale Parker joined the company as a salesman in the Residential Division. He will be responsible for estimating, sales and customer service for Goldfinch Bros. projects for contractors, architects and homeowners. He spent the last five years working for Reeb Millworks as a territory manager and architectural representative.

Zonta Club of Everett installed their new officers May 3. They are Cynthia Weaver, president; Dr. Susan Zakos, president elect; Isbell Juntila, treasurer; Windsor Vest, secretary; and directors Joan Caine and Suzanne Poppema (2012-2013) and Marilyn Marsh and Julie Martin (2012-2014). Global Spectrum has hired a new executive chef. Duff Allen will be responsible for all culinary aspects of Centerplate’s food and beverage operations within the Comcast Arena and Edward D. Hansen Conference Center. A northwest native, Allen has several decades of experience. He currently co-owns Seattle’s Northwest Spice Co.

Coastal Community Bank has hired Mike Spencer as vice president and senior relationship manager for the Everett-based bank’s commercial and small-business banking team. He has more than 20 years of experience in Snohomish County at US Bank and Cascade Bank. He has been involved in several Snohomish County service organizations, including Hospice and HomeCare of Snohomish County and United Way.

Amy Zuvela has been elected as the newest member of the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation Board of Directors. An avid reader and Lake Stevens resident, she has worked for Costco Wholesale in Everett for eight years. Zuvela has volunteered with many organizations, including Leadership Snohomish County, Costco Volunteer Tutoring Program, Project Homeless Connect and Freedom Fest Northwest.

The Western and Central Washington Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association has hired Justine Stevens as walk manager for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She will manage the chapter’s nine walks in the region. Before this job, the Everett native worked in a nonprofit organization as part of event management for the American Cancer Society. She has worked on nonprofit events and sat on committees and boards since graduating from high school.

Haggen has announced new hires and a promotion to its senior staff. New hires include John Turley, senior vice president of operations; Clement Stevens, senior vice president of sales and merchandising; Guy DiPasqua, vice president of pharmacy; Ronette Snyder, vice president of marketing; and Renee Glondo as the director of bakery. The additions come following Haggen’s successful launch of its Northwest Fresh initiative.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has hired a new director of communications. Shari Ireton began work May 3. She has spent the past 13 years working as a communications specialist, public information officer and most recently, as an assistant director of marketing.

Jim Angell has joined the Business Services team of Peoples Bank for Snohomish and King counties. In his new role, Angell will work with current and prospective bank clients to develop cash management solutions for small and medium-sized firms. He will also provide merchant bankcard processing solutions that include local service and fees that are easily understood.

KeyBank has promoted Aspasia Sotiriou to become the area retail leader, managing operations at 11 branches in Snohomish County. Since joining KeyBank in 1997, Sotiriou has been a teller, assistant branch manager, branch manager, district operations manager and project manager for KeyBank’s branch expansion projects.
