Within days of landing the Air Force tanker contract, the Boeing Co. began its search for workers for its 767-based tanker.
The company expects to begin assembly on the first tanker in 2014.
But engineering and planning already are under way both in Washington state and at Boeing’s location in Wichita, Kan., where defense applications will be installed.

Although it isn’t hiring production workers specifically for the tanker yet, Boeing has been steadily hiring Machinists as it ramps up production across all aircraft lines.
