14-mile scenic stretch of Mountain Loop Highway opens early

The highway between Granite Falls and Darrington reopened to traffic on Friday due to good weather.

School levies failing in Marysville, Stanwood-Camano, Lakewood

Granite Falls and Sultan were passing their levies. And in Mill Creek, voters approved joining South County Fire.

Panel OKs naming marsh near Granite Falls for Everett teacher

The wetland currently doesn’t have a name. Soon it could be the namesake of Andy Holland, a forestry teacher.
