Snohomish County is located in the greater Puget Sound region and lies 20 miles to the north of Seattle. The geographic composition of the county varies from the beaches of the Puget Sound on the westernmost border to the alpine wilderness of the Cascade mountain range to the east. King County and metropolitan Seattle lie to the direct south with Skagit County and ultimately the Canadian border 50 miles to the north.
Snohomish County has experienced rapid growth in the past two decades and continues to grow both in population and economic output.
