Everett power firm hopes outside investors mean more growth

EVERETT — A growing power systems company in Everett has a new major investor. JEB Inc., an industrial holding company is now the major owner of Computer Power &Service, Inc. (CPSI), which makes sure the Data Age stays plugged in.

The booming growth in cloud-based computing has fueled CPSI’s growth. In addition to Everett, it has a Portland office, and this year, it opened offices in Ohio and Virginia.

JEB’s acquisition will bankroll CPSI’s further expansion and ensure its ability to support existing clients and find new ones in “regions around the world,” CPSI founder and president John Dwyer said Friday.

The company offers critical power system design, sales, installation, service, and around-the-clock support and monitoring to clients.

Data centers are a growing sector in Washington, which offers cheap electricity and is home to cloud-computing giants Amazon and Microsoft.
