LONGVIEW — Alex Gray pitched a complete game and Bryce Peterson hit a tie-breaking solo home run as the Everett Community College baseball team defeated Treasure Valley 2-1 Thursday in the opening round of the Northwest Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.
Gray, a sophomore, allowed just five hits and struck out six. Peterson, also a sophomore, homered in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie.
Everett next plays Yakima Valley at 4:35 p.m. Friday. Yakima Valley defeated Chemeketa 5-0 on Thursday.
