WSU students in Everett need help with travel costs to Utah

Students from the Engineering Club at Washington State University in Everett still need donations to help pay for travel costs to attend a Mars rover competition in Utah next week.

The students built the rover from scratch and are one of 30 teams entered into the University Rover Challenge to be held June 2-4 at the Mars Desert Research Station in Hanksville, Utah.

Stantec worker in Lynnwood earns architectural license

Stantec’s Adam Bettcher has earned his professional architectural license from the State of Washington and has become a full member of the American institute of Architects. A resident of Edmonds, Bettcher is employed at Stantec’s Lynnwood location. His previous experience includes the Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C. and the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Snohomish County firms recognized by Seattle magazine

Seattle Business Magazine has announced the winners of its 2016 Manufacturing Awards. Snohomish County firms were among the recipients. BioLife Solutions of Bothell was recognized as Manufacturer of the Year and ID Integration of Mukilteo was recognized as an Emerging Manufacturer in the small firms categories. Modumetal of Maltby was recognized for Manufacturing Innovation in the large firms category.

Sno-Isle Libraries wins merit award for programs

The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation has received the 2016 Washington Library Association Foundation Merit Award. The award was presented in April during the state library association’s 2016 conference in Spokane. Examples of the foundation’s support include the TEDxSnoIsleLibraries 2015 event, the increasingly popular annual Third Grade Reading Challenge and the Trudy Sundberg Lecture Series.

GroWashington adds coworking space in Everett

The GroWashington Store located at 3013 Colby Ave., Everett, has added coworking space. Coworking is when independent contractors and entrepreneurs share office space together but do not work for the same company. Sharing space in this manner tends to be more sustainable and cost efficient, allowing for greater networking and the sharing of office resources.
