Pity the fatcats

Daddy’s gotta buy a new pair of handmade alligator shoes: CEOs at America’s biggest corporations snagged an average 4.5 percent raise in their base pay in 2015, about double the typical wage hike for everyday workers last year.

Alas, the CEOs are hurting just like the rest of us. While it’s more than twice the rate of inflation, their pay raise did not keep pace with rising prices in the supercar, megayacht and Chateau Lafite Rothschild markets.

Cage-match sugar daddy: The New York Times and Forbes reported Wednesday that Peter Thiel, the Silicon Valley gazillionaire who co-founded PayPal, bankrolled pro ‘rassler Hulk Hogan’s $140 million sex-tape lawsuit against Gawker as retribution for the website’s outing him as gay a decade ago.

If this case were in Judge Buzz’s court, we would strike down monetary damages and hand Thiel a folding chair with which to bash the Gawker editor upside the head.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1971, singer Don McLean recorded earworm-to-be “American Pie.”

Some good ol’ boys drinking whiskey and rye just said, turn that (bleep) off.
