State softball brackets released

UPDATED: The 4A bracket has been posted.

The state brackets were finally released by the WIAA early Tuesday after inclement weather delayed several state-qualifying games and the posting of the brackets this past weekend.

Well, most of them.

The 4A bracket has yet to be released and likely won’t until the completion of Tuesday’s winner-to-state game between Battle Ground and Redmond.

The 3A bracket features four local teams – Everett, Glacier Peak, Marysville Pilchuck and Meadowdale – this season. The Seagulls will face Auburn Mountainview, which Everett defeated 3-0 in a non-conference game on March 18th.

“Hopefully (we could play Everett again),” Auburn Mountainview softball coach Alicia Thompson said after the game with the Seagulls. “I wouldn’t have a problem with that.”

Marysville Pilchuck will face Shadle Park and Meadowdale faces Bainbridge in the 9 a.m. games at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey. The Everett-Auburn Mountainview rematch and game between Glacier Peak and Mt. Spokane is at noon.

Cedarcrest faces Selah at 10 a.m. at the 2A tournament at Carlon Park in Selah and Sultan takes on Kiona Benton in the 1A state tournament at noon Friday at Columbia Playfield (Richland).
