Naval Station welcomes vets to Memorial Day ceremony

EVERETT — Naval Station Everett is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony at 7:50 a.m. Thursday and is inviting local veterans of all branches of the military to attend.

The ceremony will be held on base in the Jackson Plaza courtyard, beginning with the observance of morning colors.

The event will also commemorate the Battle of Midway, the U.S. naval victory that turned the tide of World War II in the Pacific.

Interested veterans and their families are asked to RSVP sending an email to nse.rsvp@navy.mil by Wednesday.

The event is not open to the public, and veterans will either have to have a military identification card or RSVP with their full name, driver’s license state and number, and date of birth.
