Frustrations with A320neo could mean new Boeing orders

EVERETT — Qatar Airways’ frustrations with the Airbus A320neo could mean new orders for Boeing 737NGs.

The airline’s head Akbar al-Baker told reporters Monday that Qatar is in talks with Boeing, Reuters reported.

Baker said Pratt &Whitney’s engines were not tested enough for the heat in the Persian Gulf area, where the airline is based.

The airline could back out of four to six aircraft orders due to that and other issues.
