WICHITA, Kan. — The business aircraft unit of Bombardier has taken a sizable order for its super midsize Challenger 350 business jet.
Bombardier Business Aircraft, the parent of Learjet in Wichita, said Friday it has received a firm order for 20 of the jets in a deal valued at $534 million.
Bombardier said it was not disclosing the name of the customer for competitive reasons.
In November 2015 at the National Business Aviation Association Convention in Las Vegas, Bombardier announced a memorandum of understanding with fractional aircraft operator Flexjet for 20 Challenger 350s.
A Bombardier Business Aircraft spokesman said the company would not speculate on the identity of the customer or any links between Friday’s announcement and previous announcements.
The Challenger 350 is an updated version of the Challenger 300, and it was first announced at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in 2013.
It is assembled, completed and delivered at Bombardier’s Montreal-area plant.
