2 middle school girls removed from class after Snapchat post

EVERETT — Two Eisenhower Middle School students were removed from classes Wednesday after an inappropriate post on social media.

The girls reportedly had posted a picture of themselves on Snapchat, a social media site, posing with a pistol. The picture had the caption, “since we are school shooters now.”

The school district and Everett police learned of the post Tuesday night.

Investigators spoke with the girls and their parents, and the pistol was impounded, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. There was no evidence of a crime, and any discipline is up to the district, Snell said.

“We have determined that no threat was intended by the girls,” he said. “They used poor judgment.”

The school sent a letter about the incident to parents. The letter described the photo as a “serious situation that can create fear and uncertainty for students and families.”
