Several Everett Clinic doctors named to Top Doc lists

Physicians from The Everett Clinic were named Top Doctors 2016 by Seattle Magazine. They include allergist Ann Wanner, M.D.; dermatologist Robin Hornung, M.D.; gastroenterologist John Sekijima, M.D.; medical oncologist Peter Jiang, M.D.; spine physiatrist Melina Oei, M.D.; child and adolescent psychiatrist Zsolt Lorant, M.D.; pulmonologists Ronald Green, M.D. and Frederick Pascual, M.D.; and surgical oncologist Perry Soriano, M.D.

State Revenue agency to host free tax workshop

The Washington State Department of Revenue is hosting a free tax workshop for new and small business owners from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at Alderwood CSO, 20311 52nd Ave. W in Lynnwood. To register, call 425-984-6400 or go online at Revenue’s workshop and education page (http://dor.wa.gov/Workshops). Attendees may earn one continuing professional education credit.

On-the-job fatalities up in Washington year over year

The latest Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries news release for Washington is now available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics here. Of note in the report, fatal work injuries totaled 86 in 2014 for Washington, up 30 from the previous year. Fatal occupational injuries in the state have ranged from a high of 128 in 1996 to a low of 56 in 2013.

First Financial reports net income is up

First Financial Northwest, the holding company for Renton-headquartered First Financial Northwest Bank, reported net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, of $2.1 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, compared to net income of $2.9 million, or $0.20 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter in 2014. First Financial Northwest Bank has a branch in Mill Creek.
