Helicopter sent to check on BASE jumper stuck in trees in Index

INDEX — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon was sending a search and rescue helicopter to Index to check on a BASE jumper who reportedly was stuck in the trees.

BASE is an acronym used to describe jumping with a parachute from buildings, antennas, bridges or cliffs.

It wasn’t immediately known if the jumper suffered injuries.

The sheriff’s office reported the news around 4:30 p.m. through social media.
