Camano Island’s Windermere recognized by state

Windermere Real Estate in Camano Island has been honored by the state of Washington for its extensive commitment to community. Secretary of State Kim Wyman presented Windermere Real Estate/CIR owners Randy and Marla Heagle with an honor roll certificate at the 2015 Corporations for Communities ceremony on Dec. 16. The Camano Island Windermere team contributed to the Windermere Foundation and 26 other non-profits in 2015.

Skagit Regional Clinics provides varicose veins screenings

Dr. Steven Lee with Skagit Regional Clinics will provide screenings to evaluate visible varicose veins in the legs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Skagit Regional Clinics, 9631 269th St. NW, Stanwood. Health, wellness fair planned in Mukilteo

The Mukilteo Health and Wellness Fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. The event features over 25 health and wellness booths and a variety of demonstrations, giveaways, and samples. Nominations sought for ‘outstanding achievements’ in historic preservations

The Washington state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation is seeking nominations for the 25th Annual Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Historic Preservation. This program recognizes persons, organizations, and projects that have achieved distinction in the field of historic preservation. Nomination forms and other information may be obtained by visiting www.dahp.wa.gov. Nominations are due by March 18.

Employment Security Department issues tax rate notices to employers

The Employment Security Department has issued 2016 tax rate notices to employers and has updated its website (www.esd.wa.gov/employer-taxes/determining-your-tax-rates) with the new information. Tax rates in all 40 rate classes declined from 2015 to 2016. About 83 percent of employers will move into a lower-rate class or stay the same in 2016.
