Lake Stevens woman, 80, killed in car crash near Arlington

ARLINGTON — A Lake Stevens woman died after a car crash near Arlington on Saturday. The accident shut down 252nd Street for about three hours.

The Washington State Patrol said the woman, 80, was riding in a Buick around 4:15 p.m. A Toyota Four-Runner ran into the passenger side of the Buick as its driver was turning left onto 252nd Street from Highway 9.

The woman died at Providence Regional Medical Center Colby Campus in Everett. The driver of the Buick was also taken to Colby with minor injuries, Trooper Mark Francis said.

The State Patrol is investigating the crash. Francis did not have details on the driver and passengers in the Toyota as of Saturday evening. He said drugs and alcohol were not suspected.
