Monroe man arrested in Idaho on drug trafficking charges

JEROME, Idaho — The Idaho State Police say they’ve arrested a Washington man on felony drug trafficking charges.

Police stopped a 2015 Nissan on I-84 in Jerome County at about 8:30 p.m. Friday. It was driven by Sergio Maldonado Farias of Monroe, Washington.

Police searched his vehicle and found about 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine. It has a street value of about $45,000.

Farias was arrested and booked into the Jerome County jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
