Homeless man pleads guilty in knife attack at Lynnwood RV park

EVERETT — A homeless man pleaded guilty last week to a knife attack that injured two people at a Lynnwood RV park.

Einar Hansen II faces nearly seven years in prison when he is sentenced next month. Hansen, 42, must undergo an evaluation for addiction to drugs or alcohol.

Prosecutors alleged that Hansen was intoxicated and high on methamphetamine June 19 when he began yelling that his motorcycle was stolen.

He confronted a man standing outside a motorhome and the two came to blows. Hansen was knocked to the ground and the other man went inside a friend’s motorhome. A woman tried to calm Hansen down after the scuffle. Hansen took a knife from his pocket and chased after the man, according to court documents.

He entered the motorhome and stabbed one man in the back. That man wasn’t involved in the earlier fight. He’d only come outside after hearing the commotion.

Hansen pushed past that man and stabbed the other man several times. The woman eventually persuaded Hansen to stop the attack.

Hansen tried to hug one of the injured men and apologized.

He jumped a fence before police arrived. A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy and his dog found Hansen in some brush on 164th Street SW. The police dog was sent in when Hansen refused to surrender. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for dog bites.

His blood-alcohol level was .27 and he tested positive for meth.

Witnesses said Hansen frequently yelled as he walked around the RV park. Deputies located a motorcycle outside the park. It was listed as stolen.

Hansen pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree assault.
