Investors service upgrades Marysville’s bond rating

Marysville’s bond rating has been upgraded from Aa3 to A1 by Moody’s Investors Service, an increase of one level.

The upgrade will allow the city to borrow money on more favorable terms and refinance existing debt.

The increase reverses a downgrade five years ago.

Some of the strengths Moody’s identified during its financial review included strong rebounds in the city’s assessed property values, rapid job growth and economic expansion in the area, and availability of affordable land for residential and industrial development.

More information about the city’s financial status is online at marysvillewa.gov/123/Finance.
