Maple Valley Highway closed as dangerous trees removed

RENTON — Maple Valley Highway is closed Sunday between I-405 and 140th Way Southeast while crews remove three threes that pose a high risk of falling on the highway.

The city of Renton expects the road to be closed until 5 p.m.

The trees were leaning and officials found crack sin he soil and identified them as being in immediate danger of falling.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, but there will be police directing drivers around the area. Both directions of State Route 169 are closed.
