EVERETT — The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board is holding its final public hearing Thursday in Everett on its proposed medical marijuana rules for the state.
The board has held five public hearings on the rules so far across the state, which were written earlier in the year to comply with legislation requiring the medical pot industry to conform to the regulations on recreational marijuana.
The medical marijuana law passed by the Legislature took effect in July. It creates a regulatory system for the heretofore unregulated medical market, including limiting the number of plants grown in a household to 15 and creating a database of growers and users.
The law also adds post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury to the list of qualifying conditions for patients.
The meeting will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Henry M. Jackson Conference Center of Everett Community College, 2000 Tower Street.
