Arlington’s Outback Power named top 30 clean-tech firm

Arlington-based Outback Power has been named to the Top 30 Firms list by The Global CleanTech Cluster Association. The selection was out of 10,000 members. The 30 mid-to-late-stage companies represent a variety of clean tech industries. The Final Top 10 will be announced mid-November.

Ivar’s offering meals for veterans

Ivar’s 23 Seafood Bars throughout Washington state, plus Ivar’s Acres of Clams at Pier 54 on the Seattle waterfront, Ivar’s Salmon House on north Lake Union, and Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing on Possession Sound, and Seven Kidd Valley locations are offering veterans a complimentary meal on Veterans Day. Veterans offered free haircuts by Great Clips

Great Clips are salons offering veterans a free haircut. Veterans who visit Great Clips on Wednesday receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card to redeem by Dec. 31. Customers can also come in on Veterans Day and, with the purchase of a service, receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran. Limit one card per customer.

IHOPs offers pancakes to veterans

IHOP restaurants will once again honor veterans and active Armed Forces members by offering them a free stack of Red, White &Blue pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Veterans Day. Proof of military service can include I.D. cards, veteran’s organization cards such as American Legion or VFW, military dog tags or a picture of yourself in uniform.

Workshop offered on worker compensation

Employers are invited to attend a free workshop on safety programs and injured worker claims management to keep their worker compensation costs from rising. The workshop is from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Everett L&I Office, 729 100th St. SE, Everett. Registration is recommended.
