Mill Creek economic director elected VP of Washington cities association

Mill Creek’s Community and Economic Development Director, Tom Rogers, has been elected to serve as one of two vice presidents for the Association of Washington Cities Planning Directors. Rogers will be in charge of carrying out the group’s activities on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. The association aims to improve government planning and promote information exchange and career development for planners.

Retailers expected to add 15,000 seasonal workers for holidays

Washington retailers are expected to hire more than 15,000 seasonal workers throughout the fall holiday season, according to economists with the state’s Employment Security Department. The department’s labor economists say the bulk of the seasonal hiring will be in general merchandise stores, adding 8,064 jobs, up slightly from the same period last year. Wells Fargo to open new branch in Mukilteo

The new Wells Fargo branch at Mukilteo’s Park Pointe Plaza shopping center, 12926 Mukilteo Speedway, is set to open on Oct. 12. Branch manager Dylan Phan will lead about 10 Wells Fargo team members who will provide a complete range of financial services, including consumer and business banking, loans and lines of credit, financial investing, mortgages, and insurance services.
