Witnesses sought in collision that involved state trooper

LYNNWOOD — The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to a trooper-involved crash on Sept. 17 in south Snohomish County.

The trooper, Christopher Hooper, 36, was northbound on Highway 99, near Lincoln Way and Lynnwood, about 11:30 p.m.

His Ford Explorer collided with a Cadillac Catera that was pulling into traffic from a driveway, according to a State Patrol memo. The other driver, a 48-year-old Monroe man, suffered serious injuries. The trooper also was hospitalized overnight. No drugs or alcohol are suspected.
