Man shot, wounded near Monroe on Friday

MONROE — A shooting near Monroe early Friday sent a man to the hospital.

Medics were called about 2:45 a.m. They found the victim, 38, with head injuries and a gunshot wound to the leg.

He was unconscious and lying in the doorway of a shop in the 24100 block of Florence Acres Road, east of town. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

“No additional information is available at this time and the incident remains under investigation,” Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Friday.
