Weekend best bets: Air shows, zombies, art and more

Look up: The Flying Heritage Collection’s Battle of Britain is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the museum, 3407 109th St. SW. There will be flight demos of planes that fought over Great Britain, including the Hurricane, Spitfire and the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The planes fly at noon.

Look up, again: Arlington Airport Appreciation Day is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the airport, 18204 59th Ave. NE. There will be free airplane rides for kids, a flying gizmo show, fly-overs, aircraft displays, helicopter rides (with fee), flight simulators, bouncy house, face painting, tractor rides, ice cream and a bubble pool.

The undead: Break out the creepy face paint and torn clothes. A zombie walk is at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Snohomish. And in preparation for the impending zombie apocalypse, participants and spectators are asked to bring rations for survivors. The food will be put in the care of the Snohomish Food Bank. Lots of art: The Edmonds Art Studio Tour is celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend with a self-guided, free tour of 25 studios featuring 42 artists. The tour is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tourists can watch artists in action and then buy the art from the studios. Get more info in our story.

Old-fashioned fun: Pioneer Days is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Stillaguamish Pioneer Museum, 20722 67th Ave. NE, Arlington. You can try an old-fashioned water pump, toys and butter churner or give wool-spinning a spin.

A world trip: Enjoy art from around the world at Lowell Riverfront Park in Everett from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The free event includes arts and crafts from Africa, France, Asia, Mexico and the Pacific Northwest. There will be a scavenger hunt, face painting, entertainment, vendors and more.

And they’re off: See model boats race on Lake Tye, 14964 Fryelands Blvd., Monroe, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The races are part of a series of races for Unlimiteds Northwest, a model boat club.

Tie the knot: The Lynnwood-Everett fall wedding expo is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Xfinity Arena in Everett. Couples can check out wedding vendors and watch fashions shows. Tickets are $15, or you can get three for the price of two on the website.

Free fun: The Imagine Children’s Museums is free from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
