Man injured in shooting at Lake Stevens apartment complex

LAKE STEVENS — A shooting outside a Lake Stevens apartment complex on Tuesday night sent one man to the hospital with a leg wound.

Detectives on Wednesday were working to identify two suspects, Lake Stevens police Lt. Jeff Lambier said.

“We don’t believe it was a random shooting, and it looks initially like it is likely drug-related,” he said.

The gunfire was reported just before 9:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Lake Villa Apartments on 16th Street NE. Detectives believe there was some kind of fight between three men, and a shot was fired.

A 39-year-old man who was hit in the thigh was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Lambier said.

The men who fled were described as being in their late 20s or early 30s. One was white and the other was black. Their vehicle was reported as a larger sedan, maybe a Chrysler or a Pontiac, from the late 1980s or early 1990s. It might have a cloth top.
