Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday it was recalling 26,400 trucks in North America because the front passenger and center seat belts might not be angled in the correct position relative to the seat.

The recall applies to F-650 and F-750 trucks from model years 2011 to 2013 and 2015. The vehicles were made in the Escobedo Assembly Plant in Mexico between Feb. 14, 2011 and April 28 of this year.

Nearly all these trucks — 25,941 — are in the U.S., and 417 are in Canada.

The Dearborn, Michigan, company said it was developing a fix for the problem as quickly as possible.

Ford said it was not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. The seat belt anchoring issue can increase the risk of injury in a crash, the company said.
