Everett man struck by car in stable condition

LYNNWOOD — An Everett man suffered broken bones Friday after being struck by a car on Highway 99 north of Lynnwood.

The man, 20, was in stable condition when he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to police. He was cited for illegally crossing the street outside of a crosswalk.

He has since been released from the hospital, officials said Monday.

The driver, a 20-year-old Bothell man, was unhurt. He isn’t expected to face any charges, said trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol.

The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near 148th Street SW.

That stretch of the highway, between Everett and Lynnwood, is one of the deadliest places for pedestrians in Snohomish County, according to state accident data.
