New chief of neurosurgery joins Providence

Dr. Martin C. Holland has joined Providence Regional Medical Center Everett to serve as chief of neurosurgery and the neuroscience program. Holland is a board certified neurosurgeon with special interests in stroke, brain and spinal tumors, neurotrauma, neurocritical care and spinal disease. He comes to Providence from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, where he had been serving as staff neurosurgeon.

Janicki Industries opens office in Everett

Sedro-Woolley-based Janicki Industries has opened a new engineering office in Everett at 1000 SE Everett Mall Way. It features multiple conference rooms, customer office space and is equipped for eight design engineers. The primary mission of the new office is to support the aerospace industry with special emphasis on turnkey solutions for carbon fiber parts and production tooling.

Cafe Zippy to host free, one-night yoga class

Cafe Zippy on Wetmore Avenue in Everett will offer a free Vinsasa yoga class from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight as an introduction to a five-week power yoga series. There is no obligation to take the remainder of the series. The event is a kick off for the nearby Savasana Yoga Studio that is scheduled to open in September.

Investment advisers to appear on radio show

The next Getting Your Dough To Rise, KSER 90.7 FM and KXIR 89.9 FM’s monthly personal finance show, is from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Host Chuck Noel will welcome Doug Gordon, senior portfolio manager at Russell Investments in Seattle, Neale Godfrey, chairwoman for Children’s Financial Network, and Jim Black, founder of Absolute Return Solutions in Redmond.
